Three Pikachu Cards Revealed From 30th Celebration

Pokémon shows off three of the 30 guaranteed Pikachu cards in 30th Celebration, with new art from sowsow, Akira Komayama, and Shimaris Yukichi.

Three Pikachu Cards Revealed From 30th Celebration

We finally have a proper look at the Pikachu lineup in Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration. Pokémon has officially revealed three of the set’s Pikachu cards, each one a Basic Lightning-type with its own illustration and its own attack.

The guaranteed Pikachu mechanic itself isn’t new information. As covered in our original set reveal, every booster pack in 30th Celebration contains one of 30 different Pikachu cards. What’s new today is seeing three of those 30 in full, complete with card numbers, illustrators, and attacks.

One detail worth flagging right away: these cards carry dual numbering. Each has a standard set number out of 128 plus a separate Pikachu subset number out of 30, so the reveal confirms exactly where these three sit in the run of 30.

Lonely Gaze Pikachu by sowsow (06/30)

The first card, numbered 028/128 and 06/30, is illustrated by sowsow and shows Pikachu sitting alone among a pile of decorative pillows, hugging a Friend Ball cushion. It’s a quiet, cozy scene with a slightly melancholy edge, and the card mechanics lean into it.

This Pikachu has 60 HP and an Ability called Lonely Gaze, which reduces damage from your opponent’s Active Pokémon by 20 while this Pikachu is in the Active Spot. Its Pika Ball attack does 20 damage. Not a competitive card, but the flavor matching between the art and the Ability is a nice touch.

Charge-Up Dash Pikachu by Akira Komayama (20/30)

The second card, 042/128 and 20/30, comes from Akira Komayama. Pikachu bounds across a pink plain under a blue sky filled with halftone dotted clouds, with pastel streaks giving the whole scene a sense of motion.

This one also sits at 60 HP and gets two attacks. Charge-Up Dash has you flip coins until you get tails, then search your deck for Basic Lightning Energy up to the number of heads and attach it to this Pikachu. Pika Bolt does 50 damage. It’s the most playable of the three, at least in a casual sense.

Satisfied Spark Pikachu by Shimaris Yukichi (28/30)

The third card, 050/128 and 28/30, is by Shimaris Yukichi, whose signature thick white border makes Pikachu pop against the greenery. The art shows Pikachu with cheeks stuffed full of Berries, mid-snack and clearly unbothered.

This is the beefiest of the trio at 80 HP, and its single attack, Satisfied Spark, hits for 100 damage.

Why this reveal matters for collectors

The 30-Pikachu subset is shaping up to be one of the main chase angles of this set, alongside the Futuristic Rares and classic reprints we’ve covered before. With three slots now confirmed (06, 20, and 28), collectors chasing the full run of 30 have their first concrete checkpoints.

The illustrator lineup also suggests Pokémon is treating this subset seriously. sowsow, Akira Komayama, and Shimaris Yukichi are all fan favorites, and if the remaining 27 cards keep this standard, completing the Pikachu set will be a genuinely fun project. This follows the pattern we saw with the Meowth Illustration Rare reveals last week: 30th Celebration is leaning hard on artist-driven cards.

30th Celebration releases worldwide on September 16, 2026. If you’re planning your budget for launch, our full product guide breaks down every product and MSRP.
