The Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration set is officially revealed. Every card is foil, a brand-new rarity debuts, Pikachu appears in every pack, and classic cards return.

Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Official Reveal

The official reveal for Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration is here, and The Pokemon Company dropped a lot of details at once. Here is a full breakdown of everything confirmed.

Worldwide Simultaneous Release on September 16, 2026

30th Celebration releases globally on September 16, 2026, making it the first Pokemon TCG expansion ever to launch simultaneously worldwide. Japanese and English copies drop on the same date, no two-month gap. That alone makes this set unlike anything that has come before it.

Every Single Card Is Foil

Every card in the set is foil, including Basic Energy. That applies across the board, not just to the rare slots. For collectors, it means even your commons and uncommons will have that premium finish out of the pack.

A New Rarity Debuts: Futuristic Rare

30th Celebration introduces a brand-new rarity called Futuristic Rare. These cards feature evocative new visuals pushing toward the future of the TCG. The first confirmed Futuristic Rares are Mewtwo ex (157/128) and Mew ex (158/128), both illustrated by renowned Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN and numbered in the slots reserved for the set’s rarest cards.

Mewtwo ex Futuristic Rare 157/128 from Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Mewtwo ex — Futuristic Rare 157/128
Mew ex Futuristic Rare 158/128 from Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Mew ex — Futuristic Rare 158/128

This is a debut rarity, so demand from collectors chasing first prints of new card types is expected to be strong.

One of 30 Pikachu Cards Guaranteed in Every Pack

Every booster pack includes one of 30 different Pikachu cards, each with its own unique illustration. Three have been revealed so far:

Pikachu card 1 from Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Pikachu
Pikachu card 2 from Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Pikachu
Pikachu card 3 from Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Pikachu

The remaining 27 Pikachu illustrations are still under wraps. For collectors building sets or hunting specific illustrators, this mechanic gives the set significant replay value.

Confirmed Pokemon

A range of Pokemon have been confirmed spanning multiple generations. Greninja ex and Sylveon ex get new anniversary prints in the set:

Sylveon ex from Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Sylveon ex

Confirmed Illustration Rares include Lapras, Drifloon, Hisuian Zorua, and Lycanroc. Espeon and Umbreon have been shown as standard cards:

Drifloon Illustration Rare from Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Drifloon — Illustration Rare
Hisuian Zorua Illustration Rare from Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Hisuian Zorua — Illustration Rare

Umbreon standard card from Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Umbreon — Standard Card

More Pokemon are expected to be revealed before the September 16 release.

Classic Reprints Return

30th Celebration brings back iconic cards from the game’s history. Confirmed reprints so far:

Charizard Base Set reprint from Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Charizard — Base Set Reprint
Pikachu and Zekrom-GX reprint from Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Pikachu & Zekrom-GX — Reprint

These reprinted cards are not Standard legal, but can be used in formats that allow the original printings. Classic reprints in a modern foil set is exactly the kind of chase content that tends to hold long-term collector interest.

What This Means for Collectors

This is shaping up to be one of the most significant TCG releases in years. Simultaneous worldwide launch, every card foil, a debut rarity, 30 unique Pikachu illustrations, and classic reprints all in one set. The appeal crosses collector types, from players chasing the new Pokemon ex to vintage fans hunting the reprints to completionists working through all 30 Pikachu variants.

We will be covering the set in full as more cards are revealed ahead of September 16. For singles and sealed product, check PokePursuitTCG.com as stock becomes available.
