Mega Evolution-Pitch Black Products Arrive This July
A full breakdown of the Mega Evolution-Pitch Black lineup landing in July, from the Mega Greninja ex Premium Collection to ETBs and the Build & Battle Box.
The Mega Evolution-Pitch Black expansion brings a full slate of products this July, and there’s a version for every type of collector. From single-pack pickups to the loaded Premium Collection, here’s what’s actually in each box.
Mega Greninja ex Premium Collection
The headline product is the Mega Greninja ex Premium Collection. You get a foil promo card of the Mega-Evolved Ninja Pokémon in both playable and display sizes, a tech sticker, and eight booster packs.

On the card itself, Mega Greninja ex’s Mortal Shuriken Ability lets you discard a Basic Water Energy from your hand to place six damage counters on one of your opponent’s Pokémon. Its Ninja Spinner attack has the potential to do 200 damage. That combination of chip damage and a heavy hitter makes it a card worth building around.
Booster Display Box
If you want volume, the Booster Display Box is the pick. It contains 36 booster packs, and each pack has 10 cards plus one Basic Energy. Crack them all in one sitting or pace yourself, either way it’s the most cards per box in the lineup.
Elite Trainer Box
The standard Elite Trainer Box pairs cards with accessories. Inside you’ll find nine booster packs, a full-art promo card featuring Zarude, 65 card sleeves, 40 Energy cards, damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, a plastic coin, a sturdy storage box, and a player’s guide with deck-building tips.
Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box
The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box takes the standard version and adds to it. You get 11 booster packs, two more than the regular ETB, plus two full-art Zarude promo cards, one of which carries the Pokémon Center logo.

If you’re chasing the Pokémon Center-exclusive Zarude promo, this is the only box that includes it.
Booster Bundle
The Booster Bundle keeps things simple: six booster packs in one package. It’s the easy middle ground between grabbing single packs and committing to a full display box.
Build & Battle Box
The Build & Battle Box is aimed at players. It contains a 40-card deck ready to play in the Prerelease format, one of four unique foil promo cards, and four booster packs to tweak your deck. These show up at local game stores during Prerelease events and become more widely available on the expansion’s release date.
Which one is right for you?
For sealed collectors, the Booster Display Box gives you the most pulls. For a mix of cards and accessories, the two Elite Trainer Boxes are the way to go, and the Pokémon Center version is the one to hunt if the exclusive Zarude promo matters to you. Players who want to jump straight into games should look at the Build & Battle Box, while the Mega Greninja ex Premium Collection is the standout for anyone chasing that specific card.
If you’d rather skip the pack-opening gamble and go straight for the chase cards, browse Mega Evolution Pitch Black singles to build your set your way.
